Mohave Accelerated and Horizon Honors squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Mohave Accelerated had to settle for second. They fell 54-42 to the Horizon Honors Eagles. Several Patriots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Owen Honegger, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and ten boards. Honegger is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last five games he's played. Braden Fontenot was another key player, putting up nine points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Even though they lost, Mohave Accelerated smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in December of 2024.
Max Gerelick was a one-man wrecking crew for Horizon Honors as he went 6-for-12 to rack up 19 points in addition to five boards and three steals. Another player making a difference was Richie Hewitt V, who went 6-for-9 on his way to 13 points.
Mohave Accelerated's defeat dropped their record down to 17-11. As for Horizon Honors, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 17-10.
Mohave Accelerated does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Horizon Honors, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 58-42 loss against Morenci on the 18th.
