Even though the Jefferson Orange Wave scored an imposing 66 points on Saturday, the Neumann-Goretti Saints still came out on top. Neumann-Goretti enjoyed a cozy 81-66 win over Jefferson.
Neumann-Goretti's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Khaafiq Myers led the charge by scoring 22 points along with 6 assists and 6 rebounds. Larenzo Jerkins was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals.
Neumann-Goretti's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Jefferson, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Neumann-Goretti will square off against Salesianum at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday. Jefferson's road trip will continue as they head out to face Erasmus Hall at 6:00 p.m. on December 5th.
