The Indian Creek Redskins came tearing into Wednesday's match with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past Catholic Central 64-27 on the road. With Indian Creek ahead 45-13 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Kylie Anderson was her usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of McKenna Scott, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Despite the loss, Catholic Central still got an impressive performance from Anna Arai, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. Arai is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least nine every time she's taken the court this season. Mary Rohde was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds.
Indian Creek's victory was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.4 points per game. As for Catholic Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5.
Indian Creek will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against the Big Reds at 5:15 p.m. on January 20th. Bellaire is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Catholic Central, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on January 18th.
