The Milwaukee Juneau Pioneers will head out on the road to square off against the Milwaukee School of Languages Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Milwaukee Juneau has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Even though Milwaukee Reagan scored an imposing 78 points on Wednesday, Milwaukee Juneau still came out on top. Milwaukee Juneau took down Milwaukee Reagan 94-78. Given Milwaukee Juneau's advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 60th, while Milwaukee Reagan is ranked 306th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Dooney Johnson was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. He hasn't dropped below 19 points for nine straight games. Kiyun Robinson was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, even though Saint Anthony/Milw Ronald Reagan/Golda Meir scored an imposing 55 points on Tuesday, Milwaukee School of Languages still came out on top. Milwaukee School of Languages beat Saint Anthony/Milw Ronald Reagan/Golda Meir by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 58-55. The win made it back-to-back wins for Milwaukee School of Languages.
Milwaukee Juneau's win bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Milwaukee School of Languages, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-10.
Everything came up roses for Milwaukee Juneau against Milwaukee School of Languages in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 93-50 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Milwaukee Juneau since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
