Baseball Recap: Skyline Wins Going Away Against Lockwood

While Skyline put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Lockwood. Skyline blew past Lockwood 8-0. Considering Skyline has won four matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Not much got past Dakota Carlisle, who gave up just two hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Lockwood off the board.

At the plate, Skyline's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Paxton Foster, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Logan Moppin was another, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Skyline has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Lockwood, they dropped their record down to 1-7 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Skyline will welcome Lakeland at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Lockwood, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Liberal at 3:00 p.m. on Monday.
