The Edwards County Lions won the last time they faced the Wayne City Indians, and things went their way on Friday too. Edwards County came out on top against Wayne City by a score of 42-30. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Edwards County.
Several Indians players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Javen Loker, who scored ten points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Loker has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tanner McNeil, who scored seven points along with nine rebounds.
Edwards County's win bumped their record up to 9-12. As for Wayne City, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-16.
Edwards County will head out on the road to challenge Carmi-White County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Carmi-White County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Edwards County in Illinois (Carmi-White County is ranked 177th, while Edwards County is ranked 511th). As for Wayne City, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Johnston City at 1:00 p.m. on January 27th. Johnston City is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
