The Burton Panthers entered their tilt with the Somerville Yeguas with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Burton took down Somerville 35-19 on Friday. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Burton's two-point performance the game before.
Burton got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Tyrone Gilmon out in front who rushed for 116 yards and two touchdowns. Austin Gutierrez made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Despite the loss, Somerville still got an impressive performance from Keith Crawford, who picked up 130 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Crawford's longest reception was for an incredible 76 yards.
Burton's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Somerville, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.
Burton will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Granger at 7:00 p.m. on November 9th. As for Somerville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Falls City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Falls City is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.
