After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Viera, the Rockledge Raiders were happy to have found some success on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 44-42 win over Titusville. That's another feather in the cap for Rockledge, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Rockledge was led to victory by Jaida Williams-Goins and Makaiya Watkins. Williams-Goins scored 13 points along with three steals, while Watkins scored nine points along with six rebounds. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Williams-Goins has scored at least 25% of Rockledge's points.
Several Terriers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Emonie Moore, who scored 13 points along with four steals and three blocks. The contest was Moore's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Snyla Hill, who scored six points along with 12 rebounds and three steals.
Rockledge's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-6. As for Titusville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.
Rockledge and Pine Ridge will face off at 4:30 p.m. on December 15th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Titusville will be home for the holidays to greet Flagler Palm Coast at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
