The Bay Port Pirates will venture away from home to challenge the Ashwaubenon Jaguars at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Bay Port is coming into the match hot, having won their last seven games.
If Bay Port beats Ashwaubenon with ten runs on Friday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Pirates didn't even let Sheboygan South on the board on Wednesday, marking the Pirates' second-straight 10-0 shutout.
Jake Olson looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Jack Huben was excellent, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Drew Bruckner was another key player, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
Bay Port hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Ashwaubenon fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Sheboygan North on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Golden Raiders by a score of 5-4.
Owen Amenson was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over 4.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off only two hits. Those two hits allowed gave him a new career-low.
At the plate, Ashwaubenon saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hayden Thomas, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Bay Port's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-7. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Ashwaubenon, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.
