The Lake Blue Streaks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight defeat. They took a hard 60-45 fall against Hoover. While losing is never fun, Lake can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 457th, while the Vikings are ranked 71st).
Hoover's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Hunter Hershberger led the charge by scoring 19 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Zac Braucher, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds.
Lake's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-14. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.3 points per game. As for Hoover, their win bumped their record up to 10-6.
Lake will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. As for Hoover, they will head out on the road to challenge the Aviators at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
