The JW North Huskies will challenge the Hillcrest Trojans at 3:15  p.m.  on Thursday. JW North is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5  runs per game  this season.
JW North is probably headed into the  contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Arlington just ended the team's  four-game winning streak  on Tuesday. They lost  9-3 to the Lions. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest  defeat the Huskies have suffered  since March 20, 2024.
  Audrina Camacho made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  went 3-for-4 with two  RBI, one  run,  and one  double. She has been hot recently, having  posted three or more  hits the last three times she's  played. Another player making a difference was  Angelina Martinez, who  went 2-for-4 with one  stolen base, one  run,  and one  double.
Meanwhile, Hillcrest never let their opponents score on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Vista del Lago as they made off with  an  18-0 victory. Considering the Trojans have won eight matchups by more than five  runs this season, Tuesday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Ashley James tossed a big game,   keeping things locked down with   no  earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched.
 On the hitting side,  the team  relied heavily on  Melody Acevedo, who  went 2-for-4 with one  home run, four  runs,  and two  stolen bases. That's the most  stolen bases  she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of  Katelyn Kline, who  went 2-for-3 with one  home run, four  RBI,  and one  double.
 Hillcrest  lost a few balls and  finished the game with three  home runs. They are 9-2 when  they post two or more  home runs.
 Hillcrest is  on a roll lately: they've  won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-11 record  this season. Those  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for JW North, their loss dropped their record down to 15-10.
Thursday's   contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. JW North hasn't had any issues making contact this season,  having earned a batting average of .386. However, it's not like Hillcrest struggles in that department as   they've  averaged .365. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
 JW North skirted past Hillcrest  4-3 when the teams last played  back in April. Do  the Huskies have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
