The Cary Christian Knights's three-game losing streak came to an end on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 74-50 margin over St. David. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-19.
Andrew Neal continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 7 for 13 from beyond the arc en route to 29 points and 7 assists. That makes it six consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Cary Christian's points. Gideon Landry was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Preston Copeland, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kazim Oladipo, who scored eight points along with five assists and three steals.
Cary Christian's win bumped their record up to 13-5. As for St. David's, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cary Christian will take on Trinity Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Trinity Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 201 points over their last three contests. As for St. David's, they will be playing at home against Chatham HomeSchool at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Chatham HomeSchool will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
