Elkhart is 10-0 against Deerfield since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Elkhart Wildcats' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Deerfield Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on January 25th. Hopefully Elkhart focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Saturday.
Elkhart scored the most points they've had all season to find success. They came out on top against Syracuse by a score of 49-40. That's two games straight that Elkhart has won by exactly nine points.
Elkhart's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Madyson Brillhart, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 15 rebounds. Brillhart hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabel Gonzalez, who scored five points along with nine assists and six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Deerfield lost to Moscow on the road by a decisive 60-41 margin on Monday.
Elkhart now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Deerfield, they dropped their record down to 3-8 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
Elkhart beat Deerfield 34-25 in their previous meeting on Thursday. Will Elkhart repeat their success, or does Deerfield have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
