Baseball Recap: Ray Has No Trouble Against Corpus Christi Moody

Ray won against King last Thursday with 13 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. Everything went the Texans' way against the Corpus Christi Moody Trojans as they made off with a 13-3 victory. The result was nothing new for the Texans, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.

OJ RUIZ was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has become a key player for Ray: the team is 9-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 8-9 otherwise. RUIZ was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, AIDAN ORTIZ and LUCAS TINAJERO did most of the damage at the plate: ORTIZ got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while TINAJERO got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. Those three stolen bases gave TINAJERO a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of JOSH HERNANDEZ, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple and one RBI.

Ray always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .583 or higher in three consecutive matches.

Ray has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Corpus Christi Moody, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-14.
