Baseball Recap: Concord Academy Takes a Loss

Concord Academy was the 7-6 winner over Corvian Community when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Concord Academy Eagles fell just short of the Corvian Community Cardinals by a score of 4-3 on Thursday.

Noah Hatley was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base.

Hatley wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Teagan Jordan, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases. Another was Kade Brown, who scored a run while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Concord Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Corvian Community, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Concord Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 7-1 loss against Cannon on the 11th. As for Corvian Community, they have also already played their next contest, an 11-1 defeat against Lincoln Charter on the 7th.
