Tattnall County is 8-2 against the Bulldogs since December of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Tattnall County Warriors will head out on the road to challenge the Toombs County Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Tattnall County is no doubt hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
Last Tuesday, Tattnall County came up short against the Herons and fell 62-52.
Meanwhile, Toombs County entered their tilt with the Pirates with nine consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with ten. Toombs County claimed a resounding 81-45 win over the Pirates on the road. Toombs County has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matches by 20 points or more this season.
Toombs County's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Dominic Eason, who scored 25 points along with six rebounds and three blocks, and Jesus Quintero, who almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine assists. It was the first time this season that Quintero posted eight or more assists. Demetrius Cutler was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds.
Tattnall County has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season. As for Toombs County, their win bumped their record up to 19-2.
Tattnall County strolled past the Bulldogs in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 by a score of 67-53. The rematch might be a little tougher for Tattnall County since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
