The Maxwell Panthers will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Etna Lions at 7:00 p.m. on February 13th.
Last Friday, Maxwell was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 42-38 to Los Molinos.
Etna can finally bid farewell to their eight-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They strolled past Trinity with points to spare, taking the game 42-28. The win was just what Etna needed coming off of a 67-37 defeat in their prior match.
Etna got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Clayton Harris out in front who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Harris also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Noah Hubbard was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with 12 steals and five rebounds.
Maxwell's loss dropped their record down to 11-14. As for Etna, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-17.
Maxwell skirted past Etna 59-57 when the teams last played back in December of 2022. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Etna's Daniel Case, who scored 25 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Now that he won't be playing on Tuesday, will it be that much easier for Maxwell to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
