The Fairbanks Panthers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They breezed by Northeastern on the road to the tune of 51-8. That looming 51-8 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Fairbanks yet this season.
Anna Mueller had an outrageously good game as she scored ten points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Mara Vicari, who scored nine points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Northeastern struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Fairbanks pulled down 15 offensive rebounds.
The victory makes it two in a row for Fairbanks and bumps their season record up to 7-14. As for Northeastern, their defeat was their 22nd straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-20.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fairbanks will take on the Freddies at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Fredericktown focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 last Friday. As for Northeastern, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
