Kankakee waltzed into their contest on Thursday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They came out on top against the Thornwood Thunderbirds by a score of 2-0. This was a revenge game for the Kays: when they faced off against the Thunderbirds back in September, they had to take a 2-0 defeat.

Kankakee easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-14.

Their offense was headlined by Ki'Asia Wilson and Shania Johnson, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Elizabeth Avalos and her ten assists. Shaila Suarez controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Kankakee's victory bumped their record up to 14-8. As for Thornwood, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 17-15 record this season.

Kankakee didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against St. Joseph-Ogden on the 18th. As for Thornwood, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Argo on the 20th.
