For Anderson, this counts as revenge for the 40-28 defeat Austin walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.
Austin's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Samir Kassam, who scored eight points along with six assists and six rebounds, and Maverick Larson who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Those six rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Baur Lloyd was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with three steals.
Anderson's win bumped their record up to 6-20. As for Austin, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-14.
Anderson will head out on the road to face off against Bowie at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Bowie presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Anderson in Texas (Bowie is ranked 114th, while Anderson is ranked 735th). As for Austin, they will be playing at home against Dripping Springs at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Dripping Springs is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.
