Case is a perfect 3-0 against West Bridgewater since June of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Cardinals will be playing at home against the Wildcats at 11:00 a.m. The timing is sure in Case's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while West Bridgewater has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
Case is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Bourne a 30-0 shutout on Monday. Considering the Cardinals have won four matchups by more than 11 runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Cailyn Durand and Lila Alvarez made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Durand kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Alvarez pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Durand has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. At the plate, Durand went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Alvarez went 2-for-3 with two runs.
In other batting news, Ella Preston was incredible, going a perfect 6-for-6 with five runs, five RBI, and three doubles. Another player making a difference was Makayla Garcia, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI, two runs, and one double.
Case was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .674. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when West Bridgewater duked it out with Cardinal Spellman on Tuesday. The Wildcats fell 6-2 to the Cardinals.
Brianna LaGrange made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Haylee Krakowski was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Case has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.8 runs over those games. As for West Bridgewater, they now have a losing record of 4-5.
Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Case hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .438. However, it's not like West Bridgewater struggles in that department as they've averaged .381. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Case's way against West Bridgewater when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Case made off with a 16-0 victory. Do the Cardinals have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
