They simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat Luis Valdez Leadership Academy 69-9 at home. That 69-9 margin sets a new team best for KIPP San Jose Collegiate this season.
Leading KIPP San Jose Collegiate to victory were Christian Ademe-Johnson and Jonathan Mendoza. Ademe-Johnson dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds, while Mendoza scored 16 points along with seven steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Mathew Huynh, who scored 11 points.
KIPP San Jose Collegiate's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.4 points per game. As for Luis Valdez Leadership Academy, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6.
KIPP San Jose Collegiate and Pioneer will round out the year against one another at 3:30 p.m. on December 27th at. Luis Valdez Leadership Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on University Prep Academy at 6:30 p.m. on January 11, 2024.
