West Port is 1-9 against North Marion since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The West Port Wolf Pack will head out on the road to challenge the North Marion Colts at 7:30 p.m. West Port is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
West Port pushed their score all the way to 58 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Dunnellon by a score of 60-58. West Port has not had much luck with Dunnellon recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Meanwhile, North Marion struggled with offensive rebounds on Tuesday (Hawthorne had seven more) and sadly the final score reflected it. North Marion fell 63-51 to Hawthorne.
Despite the defeat, North Marion got a solid performance out of Coy Sizemore, who scored 12 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Jermaine Jackson, who scored five points along with six assists.
West Port has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-7 record this season. As for North Marion, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7.
West Port lost to North Marion on the road by a decisive 62-48 margin when the teams last played back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of North Marion's Jerdarrius Jackson, who scored 23 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
