The Egg Harbor Township Eagles fell victim to the Vineland Fighting Clan's's stalwart defense on Saturday and couldn't make it onto the board. They had to suffer through a rough 38-0 loss at the hands of the Fighting Clan. Egg Harbor Township just can't catch a break and has now endured five losses in a row.
Vineland can attribute much of their success to Tyrell Powell, who threw for 112 yards and two touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground.
Egg Harbor Township's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 1-7. More embarrasing are the teams that make up that slump in performance: Vineland, Oakcrest, and Clearview. As for Vineland, their victory on Saturday bumped their record up to 2-5.
Egg Harbor Township will be playing at home against Mainland Regional at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Mainland Regional is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Vineland, they will head out on the road to face off against Pennsauken at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
