The Lafayette Christian Cougars pushed their score all the way to 57 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 76-57 bruising from Shiloh Hills Christian.
Joshua Zapatta and Vakiel Hammett certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Zapatta scored 22 points along with 9 rebounds, while Hammett dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. Zapatta scored a full 38.6% of Lafayette Christian's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Lafayette Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Shiloh Hills Christian, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lafayette Christian will play host again and welcome LaGrange Academy, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Shiloh Hills Christian, they will be playing at home against Cherokee Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
