Even though the Rockford Auburn Knights scored an imposing 56 points on Monday, the Omaha Westside Warriors still came out on top. Omaha Westside strolled past Rockford Auburn with points to spare, taking the game 73-56. Given Omaha Westside's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 22nd in Nebraska, while Rockford Auburn is ranked 113th in Illinois), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Kevin Stubblefield continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 26 points along with six rebounds. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Maddox Anderson, who scored ten points.
Despite the loss, Rockford Auburn still got an impressive performance from Rakim Chaney, who scored 26 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brian Harper, who scored 11 points.
The win makes it two in a row for Omaha Westside and bumps their season record up to 9-3. As for Rockford Auburn, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Omaha Westside will take on Omaha South at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Omaha South is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak. As for Rockford Auburn, they will be playing at home against Freeport at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
