Fromberg is 0-6 against Reed Point/Rapelje since December of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 7:30 p.m. on January 5th. Fromberg will be strutting in after a win while Reed Point/Rapelje will be coming in after a defeat.
Fromberg had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past White Sulphur Springs 57-26 on the road.
Meanwhile, Reed Point/Rapelje's recent rough patch got a bit rougher two weeks ago after their third straight loss. They took a hard 61-43 fall against Custer/Hysham. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Reed Point/Rapelje in their matchups with Custer/Hysham: they've now lost four in a row.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Maxwell Hanes, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds. Hanes is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Axel Blodgett, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.
Even though they lost, Reed Point/Rapelje were working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Fromberg's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Reed Point/Rapelje, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.
Fromberg took a serious blow against Reed Point/Rapelje in their previous matchup back in February of 2020, falling 73-27. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Fromberg was down 37-14.
