Meanwhile, South Bend Adams beat Elkhart 51-40 on Friday. The win was just what South Bend Adams needed coming off of a 76-52 loss in their prior contest.
South Bend Adams found their leader in underclassman Jarvis Tolbert, who scored 22 points along with five rebounds. Gerron Barr was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five assists and four steals.
South Bend Clay has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. As for South Bend Adams, they pushed their record up to 3-1 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.
Friday's match is shaping up to be a scrappy contest: South Bend Clay have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 25.8 rebounds per game. However, it's not like South Bend Adams struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 25.8 rebounds per game. Given South Bend Clay's sizeable advantage in that area, South Bend Adams will need to find a way to close that gap.
