Wolfson is 0-3 against Mandarin since April of 2022 but things could change on Wednesday. The Wolfson Wolfpack will welcome the Mandarin Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Wolfson has three straight victories, Mandarin has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Wolfson's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 17-0 margin over Eagle's View. Considering the Wolfpack have won four matches by more than 15 runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Madison Saling made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Furthermore, she didn't allow a single walk, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in February of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three RBI.
In other batting news, Wolfson got a massive performance out of Sarah Wisniewski, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Peyton Brown, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Wolfson hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Mandarin came up short against Nease on Tuesday and fell 11-7.
Ryleigh Booth made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Gracianna Peck-Headley, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two RBI and one double.
Wolfson pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Mandarin, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
Wolfson might still be hurting after the 13-2 loss they got from Mandarin when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Will Wolfson have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
