The Palmer Trinity Falcons had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past Ransom Everglades, posting a 52-18 victory on the road. That 52-18 margin sets a new team best for Palmer Trinity this season.
Palmer Trinity got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jade Leon out in front who scored nine points along with six steals and five assists. Leon is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. Mati Veloso was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with ten rebounds and four steals.
When it comes to explaining why Ransom Everglades lost on Friday, one person who can't be blamed is Gabriela Pena. Despite the final result, she scored eight points along with eight rebounds. Pena scored a full 44.4% of Ransom Everglades' points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Smith, who scored six points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Ransom Everglades struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Palmer Trinity racked up 12 assists.
Palmer Trinity now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Ransom Everglades, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8.
Palmer Trinity will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Coral Springs at 7:20 p.m. on January 6th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Coral Springs is ranked 95th, while Palmer Trinity is ranked 91st). Ransom Everglades won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Piper at 6:00 p.m. on January 6th.
