Thursday just wasn't the day for Trinity Episcopal's offense. They lost 10-0 to St. Catherine's on Thursday. The Titans have struggled against the Saints recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Trinity Episcopal saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caelyn Deklyn, who went 2-for-4 with one double.
Flint Hill came out on top against Sidwell Friends on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run fifth inning. The Huskies blew past the Quakers 12-2. The victory continues a trend for the Huskies in their matchups with the Quakers: they've now won seven in a row.
Cate Stanley spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jane Stanley, who fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-4. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2025. Zaina Gilbert was another key player, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with two RBI and one run.
Flint Hill's win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Trinity Episcopal, they now have a losing record of 5-6.
Saturday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Trinity Episcopal hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .320. However, it's not like Flint Hill struggles in that department as they've averaged .321. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
