Softball Recap: Brookhaven Has No Trouble Against Natchez

Brookhaven never let their opponents score on Thursday. They blew past the Natchez Bulldogs 20-0. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.

Anna Kaitlyn Dooley was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, Mia Lee was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run and five RBI. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennedi Dickey, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Brookhaven was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .526. They are 6-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Brookhaven's victory bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Natchez, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-6.

Coincidentally, Brookhaven and Natchez will both be playing South Jones the next time they take the field. Natchez will head out to face South Jones at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Brookhaven will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
