The Harrison Panthers will be playing at home against the Falcon Falcons at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Harrison pushed their score all the way to 55 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They suffered a rough 75-55 defeat at the hands of Mesa Ridge. While losing is never fun, Harrison can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 114th, while Mesa Ridge is ranked 23rd).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Kenneth Jones jr, who scored 24 points along with three blocks. That was a full 43.6% of Harrison's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Jeilo Hamenyimana was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Meanwhile, Falcon came up short against Sand Creek on Thursday and fell 52-45.
Despite the defeat, Falcon had strong showings from Christian Bertholf, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds, and Eric Graham, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Graham has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeramiah Potts, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Harrison dropped their record down to 12-8 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Falcon, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-5.
Harrison didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Falcon in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 50-45 victory. Does Harrison have another victory up their sleeve, or will Falcon turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
