The Southwest Wildcats's six-game losing streak dating back to last season came to an end on Friday. They walked away with a 32-19 victory over Norborne. That 32-19 margin sets a new team best for Southwest this season.
Norborne lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Zach Deitch, who scored six points along with six steals. Deitch set a new season high mark in steals with six.
Southwest's win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-5. As for Norborne, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.
Southwest will head out on the road to face off against Tina-Avalon at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Tina-Avalon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Thursday. As for Norborne, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Higbee at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th. Higbee knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully Norborne likes a good challenge.
