After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Highland, Virginia Episcopal School was happy to have turned things around on Monday. Everything went their way against the Fishburne Military Caissons as they made off with an 18-4 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bishops, who have now won seven games by six runs or more so far this season.
Jaxon Godsie was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jack Mitchell, who went 2-for-3 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024.
