The Oak Ridge Trojans will take on the Rocklin Thunder at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Oak Ridge is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
On Monday, Oak Ridge narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Granite Bay 6-5.
Siena Maher looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Gemma Almont and Brooklyn Paratore did most of the damage at the plate: Almont scored a run while going 2-for-4, while Paratore scored two runs while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave Paratore a new career-high in doubles (two). Molly Railey also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Rocklin, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Folsom on Friday as Rocklin made off with a 7-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Thunder, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Payton Prior made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. Prior was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Savannah Lorenzini, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Marley Hogue was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Rocklin pushed their record up to 9-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Oak Ridge, their record is now 12-0.
Wednesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Oak Ridge hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .328. However, it's not like Rocklin struggles in that department as they've averaged .381. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Oak Ridge came out on top in a nail-biter against Rocklin in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 2-0. Does Oak Ridge have another victory up their sleeve, or will Rocklin turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
