Ponder came tearing into Friday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They greeted the New Year with with a 55-41 win over the Paradise Panthers. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Lions also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2024.

Ponder is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.6 points per game. As for Paradise, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 15-9.

Ponder and Paradise should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Ponder (ranked 205th) will meet Callisburg (ranked 782nd) at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Paradise will take on Pilot Point at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday up 1,139 places (208 vs. 1347).
