Softball Recap: Ontario Christian Has No Trouble Against Colton

Ontario Christian never got on the board in their matchup last Tuesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Colton on Thursday. They blew past the Yellowjackets 10-1. Considering the Knights have won five matchups by more than eight runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Miranda Salazar made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. Salazar was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hannah Demoff, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Lily Peters, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Ontario Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Ontario Christian's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Colton, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 8-3 record.

Ontario Christian will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Aquinas at 3:30 p.m. on April 8. As for Colton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Adelanto at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
