Basketball Game Preview: Carver A&T Wildcats vs. Dundalk Owls

Carver A&T is 5-0 against Dundalk since January of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Carver A&T Wildcats are taking a road trip to square off against the Dundalk Owls at 4:00 p.m. Carver A&T will be strutting in after a win while Dundalk will be coming in after a defeat.

On Friday, Carver A&T was fully in charge, breezing past Green Street Academy 44-6. That's two games straight that the Wildcats have won by exactly 38 points.

Elisah Guity and Laila Brandon were among the main playmakers for Carver A&T as the former went 8 of 16 en route to 16 points along with six rebounds and four steals and the latter went 6 of 9 en route to 10 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. That's the most boards Guity has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Holman, who posted six points and six steals.

Carver A&T smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Dundalk came up short against Perry Hall on Wednesday and fell 39-29. The loss continues a trend for the Owls in their matchups with the Gators: they've now lost three in a row.

Carver A&T will need focus on slowing down Jamie Maney, one of several Dundalk players who made an impact when they last played. She had 13 points. That was a full 44.8% of Dundalk's points, marking the third time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lanaya Valentine, who posted nine points.

Dundalk's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Carver A&T, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Carver A&T strolled past Dundalk in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 by a score of 50-32. Does Carver A&T have another victory up their sleeve, or will Dundalk turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
