The East Lansing Trojans will head out on the road to face off against the Grand Ledge Comets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. East Lansing will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
Last Friday, East Lansing took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 42-7 win over Holt. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as East Lansing just coasted through the last quarter.
Dwataye Sams jr continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 205 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries. Sams jr's longest rush was for an incredible 77 yards. Charlie Baker made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Meanwhile, Grand Ledge got themselves on the board against Okemos on Friday, but Okemos never followed suit. They blew past the Wolves, posting a 49-0 victory at home. Given Grand Ledge's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked 108th, while Okemos is ranked 415th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
East Lansing's victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-2. They've been dominating across those games too: they took their wins by an average of 45 points. Grand Ledge has been no stranger to the win column this season, as they've started out with wins in six of their first eight contests, giving them a 6-2 record.
East Lansing lost to Grand Ledge on the road by a decisive 45-30 margin in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. Can East Lansing avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
