After flying high against the Peoples Baptist Academy Knights on Friday, the Byne Christian Saints came back down to earth. Byne Christian lost to Wiregrass at home by a decisive 72-56 margin on Tuesday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Byne Christian in their matchups with Wiregrass: they've now lost eight in a row.
Leading Wiregrass to victory were Luke Strickland and Christian Miller. Strickland scored 24 points, while Miller scored 25 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Miller has scored at least 25% of Wiregrass' points. Another player making a difference was Riley Treadaway, who scored 7 points.
Byne Christian has fallen quite a ways from their 18-5 record last season and are now at 2-7. As for Wiregrass, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.
Byne Christian will head out on the road to face off against Trinity Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Wiregrass, they will be playing at home against Southern Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
