The Munroe Bobcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They fell to Chiles 31-25. The match was a 14-14 toss-up at halftime, but Munroe was outscored by Chiles in the second.
Chiles was led to victory by Faith Durden and Lainey Crisafulli. Durden scored 12 points along with nine rebounds, while Crisafulli scored six points along with nine rebounds and three steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Durden has scored at least a third of Chiles' points.
Munroe has not been sharp recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for Chiles, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-8.
Munroe's road trip will continue as they head out to face L.E.A.D. Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 13th. Chiles won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Maclay at 5:00 p.m. on January 13th. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Lauren Guyer and Durden.
