Matanzas is a perfect 4-0 against Beachside since April of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Pirates will be playing at home against the Barracudas at 6:30 p.m. Matanzas is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.
Matanzas' pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past Father Lopez 17-0. The win continues a trend for the Pirates in their matchups with the Green Wave: they've now won five in a row.
TRINITY WRIGHT looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had over her last eight games.
On the hitting side, AVA HENIGE was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted over her last 11 contests. Another player making a difference was MCKENZIE MANHART, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
Matanzas always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Beachside came out on top against Clay on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fourth inning. The Barracudas had just enough and edged out the Blue Devils 6-5.
Vita Lagattola spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on four hits.
At the plate, Lily Jurgens and Emma McNamee did most of the damage at the plate: Jurgens went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, while McNamee went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Kyleigh Kendall was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one double.
The victory got Matanzas back to even at 10-10. As for Beachside, the win also got them back to even at 10-10.
Matanzas came out on top in a nail-biter against Beachside when the teams last played back in April of 2025, sneaking past 3-1. Do the Pirates have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Barracudas turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
