1A Four Rivers recap Nov. 7, 2012
Plymouth extended the longest winning streak in 1A Four Rivers this week by beating Cape Hatteras, 54-0. The victory was the ninth in a row for the team.
Plymouth took down the Hurricanes 54-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Riverside's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Matthew Wisniewski threw for 283 and three touchdowns and Donovan Brown had 95 yards receiving. On the ground Jadarian Brown chipped in 99 yards. Ryan Byrd helped Riverside's passing attack out by catching five balls for 93 yards.
Clay Wagner made the biggest impact on defense this week as Riverside lost to Northampton County. The 5-foot-10 sophomore recorded one fumble.
Wisniewski has thrown for 1821 yards and 10 touchdowns this season, while Ryan Wagner has 39 catches for 533 yards. Brown leads the league in rushing with 1005 yards.
Manteo's Roy Bryant is a mere 27 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season. Bryant has rushed for 973 yards on 92 carries so far this year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Southside takes on Robert Cody's team. At the moment, the Seahawks are in fourth, while the Vikings are in first.
Plymouth led 1A Four Rivers in scoring this week after putting up 54 points on Cape Hatteras.
