Riverton has gone a perfect 7-0 against Copper Hills recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Silverwolves will host the Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Riverton and five for Copper Hills.
Riverton is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Utah's top teams: Westlake, who was ranked 22nd at the time (Riverton was ranked 25th). The Silverwolves fell just short of the Thunder by a score of 31-28 last Friday.
The losing side was boosted by Rocky Downs, who rushed for 94 yards and one score.

Even if they lost, Riverton's defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Benjamin Vakauta and Jonas Riddle, who racked up all four sacks between them. Vakauta has become a key player for Riverton: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two sacks, but 1-4 otherwise. The Silverwolves received some extra help from Coleman Garn, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
Meanwhile, Copper Hills played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 42-13 loss at the hands of Herriman. The Grizzlies were down 36-7 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Riverton will have to keep a close watch on Skyler Thomas and Logan Batt, a pair of players who had a big impact on Copper Hills' prior game. Thomas rushed for 85 yards and one TD on only 12 carries, while Batt picked up 94 receiving yards and one touchdown.
Riverton's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Copper Hills, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Riverton has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 154.5 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Copper Hills struggles in that department as they've been averaging 151.4 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Riverton took their victory against Copper Hills in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 42-19 score. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Grizzlies' Maverick Bowles, who threw for 239 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 96 yards and one score on only 11 carries. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be easier for the Silverwolves to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
