Troy has been on the road for two straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Colonie Central Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Friday, Troy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 65-61 to the Blue Devils. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (56), Troy still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Troy had strong showings from Stetson Merritt, who scored 34 points, and Legend Merritt, who scored 23 points. That was a full 55.7% of Troy's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, Colonie Central put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Guilderland 77-37 on the road. That 40 point margin sets a new team best for Colonie Central this season.
Troy has not been sharp recently as the team's lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-15 record this season. As for Colonie Central, they pushed their record up to 17-0 with that victory, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Troy strolled past the Raiders in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 by a score of 60-46. Will Troy repeat their success, or do the Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
