Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial is a perfect 3-0 against Palmview since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Eagles will take on the Lobos. Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial will be looking to extend their current 24-game winning streak.
Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. Lyla Creek tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jada Zepeda, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Emilee Holmes, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Palmview fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Mission on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles.
Abigail Cantu spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and five unearned) runs on 12 hits and racked up 12 Ks.
At the plate, Yailyn Trevino made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-5 with two triples, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylen Rosales, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 25-2. Saturday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .481. However, it's not like Palmview struggles in that department as they've averaged .358. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial skirted past Palmview 1-0 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lobos turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
