Animas had to travel to play their first game of the season, and the final result was worth the trip. Everything went their way against Elida on Saturday as they made off with a 54-20 win.
The victory got Animas out to a 1-0 start for the season. The loss dropped Elida back to even at 1-1.
Animas will be defending their home turf for the first time next week when they go up against Sierra Blanca at 6:30 PM. As for Elida, they will face off against Vaughn.
