The Pinewood Prep Panthers will square off against the Northside Christian Academy Crusaders at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Northside Christian Academy took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Pinewood Prep, who comes in off a win.
Last Thursday, Pinewood Prep made easy work of John Paul II and carried off a 48-28 win. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won seven matchups by 20 points or more so far this season.

Lavoris Lucas continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, picking up 127 receiving yards and one score, while also rushing for 62 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only six carries. He got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 68 yards. Pinewood Prep also got a significant boost from Grayson Salego, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 112 yards.
Pinewood Prep's run defense was locked in: John Paul II could only muster 3.4 yards per carry. The team can thank Will Watson for the heroic effort on defense: he. Pinewood Prep's ground attack was stronger, having averaged 5.3.
Pinewood Prep didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Mikey Williams and Watson. Watson got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Northside Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. The contest between the Crusaders and Camden Military didn't end well, with the Crusaders falling 56-37.
Pinewood Prep pushed their record up to 7-3 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 49.9 points this season. As for Northside Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.
Pinewood Prep strolled past Northside Christian Academy when the teams last played back in November of 2024 by a score of 35-21. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
