The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was AJ Wise, who picked up 107 receiving yards and one score. Tohopekaliga is 2-1 when Wise posts 80 or more receiving yards, but 2-3 otherwise. Bradley Weck was another key pass catcher, picking up 101 receiving yards and one TD.
Tohopekaliga didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Caiden White. Samir Carrillo-Handal was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making eight total tackles (3.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lake Nona). They claimed a resounding 48-8 victory over Timber Creek. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by 31 points or more this season.
Tohopekaliga better keep an eye on Kendrell Kimmons. He was instrumental in Lake Nona's win, rushing for 42 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The dominant performance also gave Kimmons a new career-high in rushing touchdowns (two).
Lake Nona is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 29.3 points over those games. As for Tohopekaliga, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's contest: Tohopekaliga has been excellent in the air this season, having averaged 324 passing yards per game. It's a different story for Lake Nona, though, as they've been averaging an even more impressive 130.6 passing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant passing game?
